Community Living Support

Royal Care Link (RCL) provides community living support services to qualified individuals in the Greater Lansing and Mid-Michigan Area who range from the aged, mentally challenged, chronically ill, to the physically disabled. 

Community Living Supports (CLS) is a service paid for by Medicaid when medically necessary for qualified individuals. CLS is defined as support services “used to increase or maintain personal self-sufficiency, facilitating an individual achievement of his or her goals of community inclusion and participation, independence or productivity.  The supports may be provided in the participant’s residence or in community settings (including, but not limited to, libraries, city pools, camps, etc”.  Section 17.3.B of the Medicaid Manual (7/1/10)

Royal Care Link CLS services include:

  • Assisting, reminding, observing, guiding and/or training in the following activities:Read More
    • Meal preparation
    • Laundry
    • Routine, seasonal, and heavy household care and maintenance
    • Household care and maintenance
    • Daily Activities (e.g., bathing, eating, dressing, personal hygiene)
    • Shopping for food and other daily necessities
  • Staff assistance, support and/or training with activities such as:Read More
    • Money management
    • Non-medical care (not requiring nurse or physician intervention)
    • Socialization and relationship building.
    • Transportation from beneficiary’s residence to community activities, and from the community activities back to the beneficiary’s residence.
    • Participation in regular community activities and recreational opportunities (such as attending classes, movies, concerts and events in a park; volunteering or voting)
    • Attendance at medical appointments
    • Acquiring or procuring goods, other than those listed under shopping and non-medical services
    • Reminding, observing and/or monitoring of medication administration

    • Customizing care to each client's needs is part of the service plan   developed by Royal Care Link. Preserving the health and safety of our clients is of paramount importance.  RCL customizes each client’s care needs as part of the service plan developed jointly with case managers, physicians and the client/guardian. Our support staff then follow these person-centered service plans to ensure we deliver high-quality care for the health and safety of our clients.

TWO WAYS TO ACCESS COMMUNITY LIVING SUPPORT:

  1. Community Living Support (CLS) services paid for by Medicaid – is accessed through Community Mental Health (CMH), Department of Human Health Services (DHS), Tri-County office of the Aging (TCOA). Potential clients can approach these public service agencies and request to interview Royal Care Link for CLS service provision.

  2. Community Living Support (CLS) services paid for by Private Pay or Insurance – is accessed directly by calling our Office Manager Wendie Bonheur at 517-203-5807 to schedule a Private Duty Care consultation meeting.
